Strategic Investment Board Limited (SIB) supports the Northern Ireland Executive and Government Departments in delivering the Investment Strategy for Northern Ireland (ISNI). This includes new schools, hospitals and roads. It also means improved water facilities, communications and public transport. Better infrastructure provides a platform to help grow the economy, create social cohesion, enhance the environment and deliver better public services. SIB can only succeed when working in partnership. Building relationships with stakeholders across the public, private, voluntary and community sectors is crucial in managing the ongoing transformation of Northern Ireland.

The Executive’s infrastructure Investment Strategy (ISNI) provides a platform for growing economic competitiveness, improving public service delivery and enhancing quality of life.
SIB's team of 18 Advisers provides strategic advice to Ministers on the development and roll-out of ISNI. It also supports the public sector to deliver infrastructure projects successfully. Depending on the requirement, SIB adds value by providing expertise on project and programme management, procurement law, corporate finance and regulation, community regeneration and/or strategic planning.
By working collaboratively Northern Ireland will have a strategically planned infrastructure which has been delivered at pace and cost effectively.

| SIB Supported Projects Derry~Londonderry – Proposal for UK City of Culture 2013 Derry~Londonderry is harnessing energy and support to achieve a winning bid for UK City of Culture 2013. The bid is bringing together the creative energy of public and private sector agencies to build upon the outstanding physical, social and cultural achievements in the city with a focus on celebrating and debating the uniqueness of Northern Ireland during this celebratory year. 20 May 2009 - Major milestone for new South West acute hospital Plans for the new acute hospital outside Enniskillen costing approximately £270million took a major step forward today with the formal signing of the contract with consortium, Northern Ireland Health Group. Construction work is now beginning on site to ensure the hospital is completed as planned by 2012. … 28 May 2009 - Ruane oversees contract signing for four new schools Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has welcomed the signing of a £45.5million capital contract to provide four new schools. The contract for the Down and Connor project will provide St Mary’s Primary School, Portglenone, St Joseph’s Primary School, Carryduff, Our Lady and St Patrick’s College, Knock and St Patrick’s Grammar School, Downpatrick with new purpose-built accommodation for a total of 2,565 pupils.
